MEMORIAL DAY MADNESS

Hike it, swim it, walk it, rock it – it’s Memorial Day! We’re thrilled that summer’s finally here, and are ready to take on the holiday head (and feet) first in style…

In celebration, we asked what our team is up to for the holiday – read on to see where we’re escaping to!

A water ski trip at Lake Tahoe… can’t wait!

   – Vera

Here are some three-day weekend ideas I have done with my family/friends in the past:

1. Joshua Tree National Park – Great camping grounds, I suggest waking up early and watching the sunrise over the rock formations.  Such a beautiful desert landscape.

2. San Diego – nice change in scenery from LA. Quieter and great Mexican food!

3. This is not really a specific destination, but I suggest biking up the coast. Even if the destination is just a couple towns away, it’s still a fun activity to do with a group.

BIG SUR! A quick (ish) trip up the coast to camp, roast marshmallows, hike and go off the grid for a little!!

The great thing about recently moving to Manhattan Beach is truly in fact, the beach! This Memorial Day I am looking forward to spending an extra day with the sand between my toes, breathing in the fresh ocean air.

   – Blake

My only priority this Memorial Day weekend is to sit poolside in Palm Springs and work on my tan while reading a good book. What better way to kick off summer?

   – Amelia

I’m going down to San Diego to enjoy the sun and have a BBQ with a bunch of college friends!!

   – Brooklyn

My weekend plans are to spend all three days at the beach!

Dream weekend:

Take Friday off, depart local airport in a private jet.

Hawaii.. Maui with a side trip to Lanai.

Enjoy the beach, warm water, umbrella drinks, hiking, kona coffee, sunsets and natural beauty with my husband.

Monday… fly home in the private jet.

My favorite long weekend getaway from LA is up to Los Olivos, CA—a fantastic winemaking destination about two hours away. A few couples rent a big house together and we spend the days visiting all the local wineries, afternoons in the pool and the evenings working the grill to cook tasty dinners. It’s hard to come back on Tuesday!

   – Gunther

Anywhere with water and sunshine! There’s nothing like a long weekend in the sun and a body of water nearby to cool off in.

   – Darya

I really like to do as little as possible!  Maybe BBQ with friends, check out Fiesta Hermosa, go to the beach, but REALLY early – because I hate crowds and traffic.

   – Quinn

My favorite destination for long weekend would have to be Rosarito, Mexico. Any opportunity we get, my family and friends and drive down, just South of the US/Mexico border, and rent a beach house where we relax in the sand and enjoy each other’s company. It’s the perfect getaway without the hassle of traveling long-distances.
